Who Will I Be Working With?

With over 30 years of experience as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and more than seven years as a Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist (CFDS), Patricia Greco is dedicated to helping clients make informed, cost-effective financial decisions during separation and divorce.

Patricia’s approach is personalized and empathetic. She understands that every situation is unique and works closely with clients to align financial solutions with their long-term goals, reducing stress while ensuring clarity throughout the process.

Working with Family Lawyers

One of the primary reasons that clients hire us is because they want to resolve their divorce matters with minimal lawyer involvement to reduce costs and roadblocks. Most clients still use a lawyer to draft their separation agreement, but we can work collaboratively with one or both spouses and their legal teams to expedite the divorce process.

Our Six Core Service Areas

  1. Financial Statements & Disclosures

We guide you carefully through the gathering and preparation of essential financial documents. In Ontario, for example, this includes Form 13: Financial Statement (Support Claims) or Form 13.1: Financial Statement (Property and Support Claims). We will prepare clean, accurate statements, organized and delivered to your lawyer to help reduce overwhelm and ensure precision.

  1. Net Family Property (NFP) Assessment

Understanding your true financial position is crucial. We calculate your NFP and resulting equalization of family assets under the provincial Family Law Act to support division discussions, including an analysis of tax implications.

  1. Child & Spousal Support Calculations

Support arrangements require more than numbers. They need to be balanced and sustainable. We model support based on income, expenses, parenting plans, and tax outcomes. Our process ensures that support is calculated consistently and accurately by applying the established guidelines, which helps you reach a durable solution.

  1. Settlement Options

Court can be an extensive, expensive process. As you work through property division and support, it is important to consider the full financial picture, including tax implications and other critical factors. By taking your individual circumstances into account, we develop tailored strategies that reflect your long-term objectives, helping you make confident, well-informed choices about your future.

  1. Tax Efficient Strategy

Tax efficiency is important for all long-term planning, including the resolution of a divorce. If you have assets including retirement accounts, taxable non-registered investments, a cottage, rental real estate, or a private corporation, our Chartered Professional Accountants (CPAs) can assist with the tax implications of keeping, transferring, or selling assets.

  1. Post-Divorce Financial Planning

What does your financial future look like with the payment or receipt of a settlement, future support obligations, and new financial and lifestyle realities? We model multiple scenarios projecting your financial future, giving you a roadmap for informed, empowered planning. We also help you plan what to do with investments, debt, insurance, and estate planning post-divorce, without an axe to grind, since we do not sell financial products.
